How do I play?
Drag on the playing field or hold an arrow button to move your ship. Tap Launch to release the ball. Catch it near the left edge to send it left, or near the right edge to send it right. Each return adds power. Missing costs a life and resets the streak.
On iPad, movement and launch controls sit at opposite bottom corners for a two-handed grip. With a keyboard, use the arrow keys to move, Space to launch and Escape to pause.
Know your invaders
- Blue shields: hit the exposed top; front and side hits bounce off.
- Purple carriers: break them to release two smaller enemies.
- Orange reactors: explosions hit nearby enemies and can trigger other reactors.
- The Sentinel: a boss every sixth wave. Aim for the bright crown.
Upgrades and bonus rounds
Every three waves, choose a wider catcher, a piercing charged ball or an emergency save. The fourth wave of each six-wave sector is a star harvest, with 25 seconds of active ball time and free relaunches. The timer pauses while your ball is docked.
Personal, friends and global scores
Open Scores for your five best Classic runs or Daily scores. Game Center is optional. Connect before starting a new run to submit a ranked result. Classic and Daily have separate boards. Daily uses the same starting formations for everyone and resets at midnight UTC; runs from an earlier day stay local. If an online submission fails, your personal result stays saved but the current beta does not retry automatically.
Saved progress and ships
Leaving the app pauses your run. Resume when you return. Finish or bank a run to record it. Open Hangar to see the four cosmetic ships and their unlock requirements, or change sound and haptics. Reduced Motion follows your device settings. Progress is stored on this device, without cross-device game-save sync; deleting the app removes local data.
Join the Friends beta
Install Apple’s TestFlight app, then open the PX7 OrbitBreakers Friends invitation on your iPhone or iPad. You need iOS or iPadOS 18 or later. External access depends on Apple’s beta approval and available places. If the invitation is not accepting testers yet, check again after approval.
